Baby Ukrainian Power, First Words 

    Explore nature, a farm, a city, and a home in this musical and colorful see-and-say program. Using upbeat tunes and real-life images, “Baby Ukrainian Power, First Words” introduces children to 157 Ukrainian words, enriching their minds and expanding their vocabulary.

      Viewers will learn to identify common objects found inside and outside the home from refrigerator and mirror to roof and mailbox. They’ll be enchanted by the beauty of nature from seeing a majestic sunrise to hearing the trickle of rain. Through “Baby Ukrainian Power, First Words” children discover the sights and sounds found on a farm from a farmer plowing a field to a chicken laying an egg.

“Baby Ukrainian Power, First Words” creates a foundation of words that prepares young viewers to graduate onto the “Ukrainian Power™” video series, where they’ll encounter interesting adventures with a clever purple puppet named Boomchyk and all his friends in Alphabet Village.

Because children love to learn, sing and play, they will be delighted to spend time in Alphabet Village where letters grow on trees and the river flows of alphabet soup.

Led by Boomchyk Borovyk, our lovable purple host, they meet Natalka, who is eager to learn the Ukrainian alphabet, Yurko, who wants to capture the colorful village on canvas and Maksym, who dreams of being a soccer star. Pani Vera, their creative teacher, finds many ways to help them learn.

Milya, a lovely English-speaking puppet, pops in throughout the video to provide encouragement and explanations of the on-screen activities. This video teaches a variety of Ukrainian words and instills pride for one's Ukrainian heritage. Closed captioning is available in English on VHS tapes so parents and friends who do not speak Ukrainian can follow along and learn as well.

It's the start of a new day in Alphabet Village, a day of learning, fun and games in the land where letters grow on trees and the river flows of alphabet soup. It's also the beginning of autumn. Natalka, Maksym and Yurko, the children of Alphabet Village, head back to school.

With the help of Boomchyk Borovyk, our purple puppet host and friend, the children learn about the seasons, the months and the days in Ukrainian. Their teacher, Pani Vera, welcomes the children back to school and introduces them to the magic of the Ukrainian folktale "The Mitten." Milya, our yellow puppet interpreter, as always, pops in and out to encourage, support and explain the on-screen activities in English. Closed captioning is available in English on VHS tapes.
